On Sunday, December 6th, was the anniversary of the Battle of San Pasqual. This battle took place in 1846, during the Mexican-American War. In this battle, the commander of the American soldiers was Stephen Watts Kearny, our school’s namesake. In remembrance, a handful of our cadets attended San Pasqual’s annual celebration of this battle. Here, our flag detail raised both the American and Mexican flags while the anthems played, and we all held a salute in honor of everyone who fought. At the celebration, we ate great food, played some fun games, saw a few mules and horses, learned more about our American and school history, and learned some new jokes from some of the workers putting on the amazing event! We were honored to be able to attend this year’s celebration, and hope to have as much fun next year!
