On January 21st, some of our Kearny cadets had the opportunity to take part in a leadership course on the USS Midway. Cadets practiced leadership and teamwork skills with activities through the Travis Manion Foundation. Afterwards, they were able to look around the ship and even try out their flight simulators.

Congratulations to our Kearny JROTC Academic team for winning the SDUSD JROTC Academic Bowl Championship of 2017! Schools have had the chance to match its top academic cadets against each other through the Academic League. During the Academic Bowl, teams had been arranged for the final competition based on their cumulative points obtained from the league-play to compete in the competition. With much hard work and dedication throughout the school year, four of our cadets: Jacob Franco, Lesley Warner, James Nguyen, and team commander, Christian Blanco, brought back the first place trophy after competing against twelve other teams.
