Hello Cadets and Parents, Yesterday evening, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) published a finding that "Large gatherings that include 250 people or more should be postponed or canceled to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. This includes gatherings such as concerts, conferences, and professional, college, and school sporting events". With this recommendation from the CDPH and the Governor's Office, the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) Director of Army Instruction (DAI) Brigade Office has canceled the SDUSD JROTC Joint Brigade Ball scheduled on March 14, 2020. The health and safety of all our students continue to be our first priority in the wake of the evolving situation pertaining to the novel coronavirus. The DAI Brigade Office will make contact with the Town and County Hotel and request a refund based on this State of Emergency. Not knowing the duration of the Emergency, we are unable to reschedule or defer this event to a later date. For the cadets that did not participate in the fundraiser events and activities for the JROTC Joint Brigade Ball, the JROTC DAI Brigade Office has requested ticket refunds from Town and County Hotel. Your patience with us is greatly appreciated, as this process will take some time. Parents will bie notified directly regarding the status of the refund as soon as these details are confirmed. Please contact me directly if you have any questions or need additional information - by phone at (717) 659-2344 or email at gjohnson2@sandi.net, or 1SG Marlon Rice, at mrice1@sandi.net. ![]()
On Saturday, March 7th, our very own Raiders team competed in Cadet Challenge, a SDUSD Joint Brigade competition which took place at Madison High School. The Raiders team went against athletic teams from twelve other units in our school district. Our competing cadets participated in these categories: push-ups, sit-ups, basketball toss and relay race. Despite the competitiveness of each cadet, it was a very social and spirited atmosphere. Thank you so much to those who competed!
