This past Friday, June 12th, cadets celebrated the end of the year with the annual JROTC Banquet! Leaders and members of teams took the opportunity to talk about their experiences this past year with the intent to inspire us to continue this program, recognize individuals, and of course, make us laugh. These speeches were filled with both heartfelt messages and puns. The cadets were surrounded with adorable centerpieces, glistening lights, and amazing people; all of whom share the same passion of JROTC. At the end of the night, cadets left the banquet with filled stomachs with amazing memories. Best squad? No, we're the best battalion!
- c/SSG Samoy Cadets spent several hours giving back to the community by volunteering at Cubberley Elementary on May 29, 2015. Both the faces of students and families were filled with joy and excitement at this carnival. In order for that to happen, eighteen of our cadets helped set up for the carnival, run booths, and clean up. Cadets lead activities such as: a race car booth, ring toss, face painting, and a concession stand. These cadets were eager to help out their community, thus exemplifying both good citizenship and role- model behavior. Most importantly, this event allowed cadets to give back to their roots and hopefully inspire future cadets.
- c/SSG Samoy On Friday, June 5, 20 JROTC cadets volunteered at Ross Elementary’s Hawaiian-themed carnival. They manned games and activities such as cookie decorating, dice toss, cake walk, and ring toss. They helped PTA and other volunteers set up the booths and activities, and were fed dinner at the carnival in return for their time and hard work. The students, parents, and the volunteers all had a great time at the carnival.
