From July 31st to August 4th, many JROTC units in the 8th Brigade participated in STEM Camp, which is consisted of a variety of classes that allow cadets to experience university life by applying citizenship and leadership skills in different learning environments. Some classes that were instructed on the UCSD campus included Biology, Bioengineering, Oceanography, and Robotics. During this time, our cadets did many on-hand activities that allowed them to put themselves in the same working position as those in real life. Towards the end of the week, cadets reflected on what they learned throughout their time in STEM Camp and were awarded a certificate and medal for their academic excellence and completion of the program.
