On Friday December 7th the Kearny BN Staff attended to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). Where we got informed about all the phases of emergency management, and the importance of raising awareness in case of a natural disaster here in California. Cal EOS also offers internships programs open to High School and College students who look forward to get educated on emergency services.
On Sunday, December 2nd, our battalion staff and leadership gathered at the San Pasqual Battlefield Historical Park. Leadership had the opportunity to step their shoes into where the war took place and gained knowledge about the Mexican-American War. An important fact about San Pasqual Battlefield Historical Park is that the name of commander of the American Soldiers, Stephen Watts Kearny, our school’s namesake. In recognition to this our leadership bonded by commemorating the lives of the soldiers that sacrificed themselves for their beloved country.
