Hosted by the Military Order of the World Wars, Massing of the Colors is a patriotic ceremony displaying the National Colors and those whom the colors represent. Color guard units from Active-Duty, Reserve, Senior and Junior ROTC units (like us!), and other groups come to display the colors! - c/SSG Barredo Held on our home turf, the second round of the Academic League began! Lincoln, San Diego, Crawford, and Kearny went at it for the top... and our team rose victorious for a second victory, ending with an astonishing 140 points! Well done to all schools who attended, and well done Komets, Hooah! - c/SSG Barredo An exciting Saturday to behold; the Cadet Picnic of 2022! As with many of the picnics prior, the Cadet Picnic was jam-packed with engaging competitions, friendly games, and comradery! An amazing lunch heightened spirits for the talent show and upcoming tug-of-war. Thank you to all Cadets who were able to attend! - c/SSG Barredo Marking our first field trip of the 2022-23 School Year, the Miramar Airshow was a spectacle to behold! Our Cadets had a great time on the Airfield, exploring various exhibits, challenging themselves, and overall enjoying the experience. - c/PVT Barredo Kearny Academic Team competed against University City, Morse, and Hoover at Hoover High. Our Komets crushed the first competition of the year, racking up an amazing 120 points! Congrats, Hooah! - c/PVT Barredo Great job to the Cadets who went to cadet picnic! They worked hard durning the day, they had fun and put their game faces on! They also enjoyed a nice lunch in the middle of it with an nice talent show after. c/CPT Myers Cadets in Regulation and Armed Drill competed in Three Stage which is platoon, squad, and Arm Drill. They work everyday after school to perfect their routine and discipline! These cadets went out to competition to show off this hard work and dedication to become the best at what they do! Good job to these cadets who competed at Three Stage! Great job! To the cadets in Raiders who represented Kearny in Cadet Challenge to show off their hard work and dedication to keep up their strength! They worked hard to pull it all together to allow cadets from the school year of 21-22 to enjoy some delicious tacos and burritos! -c/CPT Myers Color Guard participated in BDI (Best Drilled Individual), congratulation on c/PVT Julianda who got 2nd place for LET-1, c/CPL Stolz who got 1st place for LET-2, c/MAJ Pfister who got 2nd place for LET-3, and last but not least c/LTC Al-Zanbai who got 2nd place for LET-4! c/CPT Myers See photos below Color Guard competed in competition to show their hard work and dedication to their team, and Kearny High School AJROTC! The Kearny Color Guard team went out and competed their hearts out bring back 3rd for both LET-1 and 2, 4th for LET-3, 5th in squad/platoon, JV Color Guard got 4th, and Varsity Color Guard got 5th! -c/CPT Myers See photos below On Saturday, December 18th, cadets from Kearny High School participated in Wreaths Across America! Wreaths Across America is to pay respect and honor those who have lost their lives well fight for this in war, by laying wreaths on the graves of those who have given everything for this country!
-c/CPT Myers Kearny AJORTC's Academic Team has participated in academic competitions since September of this year. After three competitions we rained undefeated. For their excellent work, our team was invited to participated in district finals! Against 4 other schools; our district team came in 3rd. A prestigious feat for Kearny. Our Kearny Battalion is so proud of the participants and we hope that next year they will bring the same energy, if not more. Congratulations!
Another win for Kearny's JROTC Academic Team! On Wednesday, November 3rd Kearny won their third academic competition of the season at Mira Mesa. We placed first amongst three other schools. Congratulations to all who competed. Our Battalion is very proud of your performance. Congratulations Kearny, Hooah!
