On Saturday, April 20th, cadets proudly represented our Komet Battalion by participating in the annual Joint Brigade Regulation Competition at James Madison High School. Categories included Best Drilled Platoon (BDP), Best Drilled Squad (BDS), Best Drilled Individual LET 1-4 (BDI) Color Guard. BDP/BDS/BDI/Color Guard is an event that allows cadets from each unit to showcase the fruits of their hard work, teamwork, commitment, skillfulness, and discipline through armed drill and the Presentation of Colors. Thank you to all of the cadets who dedicated countless hours of practice and participated in this event in order to give their best performance!
On Saturday, March 16, over a thousand cadets from each of the thirteen units within the San Diego Unified School District's Joint Brigade gathered for the annual Cadet Ball. Held at the Town and Country Hotel, these cadets began their night by enjoying a three-course meal and a speech from a keynote speaker recognizing and celebrating not only each of the thirteen school's successes and achievements, but also motivating them to go continue to strive for excellence. Cadets watched the Royal Court candidates represent their respective units as they walked under the Arch of Swords executed by the Joint Brigade Honor Guard.
We would like to thank everyone who made the event possible; from the Brigade Staff's diligent and rigorous planning, to each of the cadets' participation. We hope that those who attended had a memorable night and to see everyone again next year!

On Sunday, December 2nd, our battalion staff and leadership gathered at the San Pasqual Battlefield Historical Park. Leadership had the opportunity to step their shoes into where the war took place and gained knowledge about the Mexican-American War. An important fact about San Pasqual Battlefield Historical Park is that the name of commander of the American Soldiers, Stephen Watts Kearny, our school’s namesake. In recognition to this our leadership bonded by commemorating the lives of the soldiers that sacrificed themselves for their beloved country.
