*Please note that Kearny AJROTC will not be providing transportation.* Our annual Joint Brigade Best Drilled Individual (BDI) and Best Drilled Color Guard (BDCG) Regulation Drill competition took place on December 9th at Serra High School. The competition shapes cadets into performing sharp, swift drill movements with the rifle or flag. Each of the thirteen Battalions sent one cadet from each of the four LET levels to compete for the BDI competition and a LET 1 Color Guard and Varsity Color Guard team for the BDCG competition to represent their school. Many cadets who were not competing and parents of the participating cadets also came to show their support and spirit. Our participating cadets put in a lot of practice and work to give the judges a good impression with their performances. Thank you to all of those who competed and came out to support, and let us continue to work hard and preform even better next year!
- S5 This year's annual Joint Brigade Cadet Picnic took place on September 23rd. Hundreds of cadets from thirteen different battalions, including Kearny, came to represent themselves and compete in many games and preform in the talent show. Cadets were also able to go around and socialize with those from other battalions, catching up with old friends as well as hopefully, making plenty of new ones. We are so glad to have seen so much participation and spirit from everyone!
- c/CPT Peterson Many of our cadets, along with those from other schools within our brigade, participated in the annual JCLC (Junior Cadet Leadership Camp) this summer. JCLC is a summer camp experience focused on helping cadets to improve their leadership, team building, and adventure training skills. Some of the activities at the camp included fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and archery, along with many others. We hope that everyone was able to learn and grow as well as have fun during their time there.
