On Saturday, January 24th, we hosted our End of the Semester Banquet where we reflected back on what we did within our program this past semester. On top of reflecting back, we were able to bond and look forward to our next semester as we all dined on pizza. We thank everyone who came to the banquet, and we hope to see both new and familiar faces this upcoming semester. Congratulations to all of our graduating cadets and we wish them the best of luck for their future ventures! We would also like to applaud the Bravo Company for winning the Best Company Award through their immense efforts and dedication.
- c/CPL Sunga Join us at the End of the Semester Banquet on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018. It will be held at the range from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Food and drinks will be provided so make sure to sign up before the date of the banquet. We hope to see you there!
We can't wait to see you come to our ice skating fundraiser. It will be held at the San Diego Ice Arena from 8 to 10 PM. Tickets will be on sale for $15 and sold by our battalion staff and company XOs. There will be food and drinks so make sure to invite everyone you know!
*Please note that Kearny AJROTC will not be providing transportation.* On December 6th, our Archery Team competed against Crawford High School. We scored 1571 points and won the round. Congratulations to the Archery Team for successfully winning all of their rounds so far! Thank you to those cadets who had competed in this round.
- c/2LT Bui Our canned food drive will officially be starting on November 13th and closing December 13th. Bring in at least two cans to count towards credit and help your company be the one with the most amount of cans collected. The cans donated towards your company will count towards best company credit. Please make sure that the cans you bring in are not expired. Help us fight hunger within San Diego!
- c/CPT Peterson The first uniform inspection of this semester will be on Tuesday, October 10th. Please make sure that everything is in order through the button below.
Kearny High School's 2017 graduation took place on Wednesday, June 14th. We had our color guard present the colors for the ceremony as well as several other cadets volunteering to help keep the event organized. We would like to thank all of those who helped out and congratulate all of our new Kearny graduates!
- c/SGT Peterson Thank you to all of those who attended our ice skating fundraiser, which took place on Friday of June 9th at the San Diego Ice Arena. Along with the ice skating, there was also pizza provided for those who came and those who helped out. We hope that everyone had a lot of fun! Thank you!
- c/SGT Peterson Kearny JROTC's End of the Year Banquet took place on Friday, June 2nd. All our cadets were invited attend to celebrate and reflect upon this year's events and accomplishments from our program. There were pictures from throughout the year, speeches from those in leadership, as well as pizza, ice cream, and music. We hope this has inspired more cadets to strive to make our program even more amazing for next year!
- c/SGT Peterson On Saturday, June 3rd, many of our cadets volunteered at Cubberley Elementary School's carnival event. We hope to have helped raise money for the school and helped all those who attended to have had an enjoyable time. From setting up, to assisting with the booths and games, to cleaning up, we would like to thank our volunteers as well as Cubberley Elementary for inviting us.
- c/SGT Peterson Incoming Freshman Orientation took place this year on May 23rd, where our new Kearny students of next year and their families had the chance to learn more about our school. Through this, we also got to show and talk about our JROTC program. We hope to see many of these future komets becoming new cadets as well!
- c/SGT Peterson We welcome you to join us at our Ice Skating Fundraiser. It will be taking place on Friday June 9th from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at the San Diego Ice Arena with provided food and water. Buy your tickets at the JROTC office for $15 before they sell out!
- c/SGT Peterson Congratulations to the hard working cadets who have been selected to become our new Battalion Staff for the 2016-2017 school year!
On May 2nd, cadets celebrated the Award Ceremony, an event where the Army Instructors and guest speakers recognized cadets who worked tremendously hard and demonstrated both leadership and academic excellence. Many of our cadets received many awards and we proudly congratulate them on their success. Additionally, the new battalion staff was introduced and we certainly know that they'll lead us with loyal cooperation so that as a battalion, we can reach many objectives next year. Thank you all for coming.
- Battalion S5 On Saturday April 22nd, many of our Kearny cadets participated in the annual Linda Vista Parade. Our volunteers, including our dedicated Color Guard, Armed Drill, and Unarmed Drill team marched in front of hundreds of people at the fair dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and understanding. We would like to thank all of those who were there to help represent our school and our JROTC program!
