We hope to host next month's competition on our campus. Good job and good luck to the KHS Academic team! - c/SGT Peterson Attention Kearny High School cadets,
Our nationally-ranked JROTC academic team is looking for a few sharp, knowledgeable cadets to compete with the team for the district title this year! All grades accepted (except seniors), and cadets should have at least a 3.0 GPA, and, preferably, some background knowledge (think trivia) on multiple subjects. But even if you aren't the best at games like Jeopardy, still consider joining if you are outstanding at core school subjects (math, science, etc). If you are interested, please TEXT, don't call the academic team commander at (619)-821-7910. Include your full name, JROTC class period, academic grade, and small school. Thank you for supporting our Kearny AJROTC Teams! First meeting/practice will be on Monday at lunch in Room 805. - c/SSG Nguyen On Saturday, February 20, our varsity archery team attended a brigade-wide archery competition. The competition was held at Lincoln High School, and the other schools in attendance were Madison High, Crawford High, San Diego High, and Lincoln High. After all three flights, parents and peers of shooters were allowed to take a few shots with the guidance of the archers. After the parents and peers were allowed to shoot, the final scores were tallied and the winning individuals and schools were announced. Third place individual went to our own Mikaila Lane, Second place to our Asia Dunbar, and First to our Lily Bell! Our archery team as a whole also placed first! We are very proud of our archers for doing their best Saturday, and look forward to seeing how they improve in the future.
