On December 4th, twenty-four cadets explored the San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park, a national park commemorating the soldiers who fought the battle between the U.S. and Californio forces on December 6, 1846 in the Mexican-American War, where both Generals Stephen Kearny (the man our school was named after) and Andres Pico claimed victory. Our JROTC Color Guard raised both the Mexican and American flag as we present arms while the National Anthems played. It was a fun experience for all of us as we journeyed through some trails, looked at the historical exhibits, and in unison, watched the battle day performance at the amphitheater.
